Terms, Conditions and Cancellation Policy

 

Rates published in www.conocechile.cl are in USD Dollar per passenger, unless indicated otherwise, or in the case it corresponds to:
* Apart-hotels and cabins, which are expressed by unit.
* Car rental services expressed per car.
Private or regular transfers and tour services are provided with a driver-guide or a driver plus a guide, in the specified language.
SIB services are provided from a certain minimum number of passengers, which normally is a minimum of two passengers.
When the service does not require minimum passenger it is indicated in the corresponding notes.
All Inclusive products, Sailings, Air Circuits, Cruises, Lodges and Ski Centers are subject to specific reservation, confirmation, and payment conditions. Rates in this book are end user rates.
Published rates may be changed without prior notice.
Services and programs may be changed or cancelled in its execution, sequence and content; in order to offer a better
service, or due to extreme conditions or major force reasons.

NOT INCLUDEDED IN RATES

Hotel rates do not include Value Added Tax (IVA).
Non-resident foreign tourists are exempt of the Value Added Tax (IVA), presenting their valid passport and tourist card during their check-in. This exemption applies during their stay and consumption in the hotel.
Rates do not include additional costs, generated by passengers or their guests, nor for changes and cancellation costs.

DOCUMENTATION

It is each passenger’s and their Travel Agent’s responsibility to ensure they have the appropriate documents to make the trip.
Passenger must be informed and prepared to full fill the visa, vaccination and any additional conditions required to visit the country. Passengers must take care of paying the generated costs of non-fulfilment or lack of information when entering each country or travelling within it.

CONFIRMATIONS, CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

CONOCE CHILE is committed to send individual written replies on reservation requests within 48 working hours, with the exception of unforeseen conditions or force major reasons that may interfere in clients and suppliers normal communication channels.
A service will not be considered as requested if there is not a written request. Likewise, a reservation is only valid if CONOCE CHILE does it by written means. The same condition applies to changes and cancellations.
CONOCE CHILE makes the requested reservations, changes and cancellations, according to the stipulated conditions by each supplier. These conditions may change according to the product, service, and number of passengers, season, or other reasons.
It is very important to consider that modifications in the original reservation may generate changes on the final quotation.
It is important to inform the CONOCE CHILE Reservation Number (File Number) in case of a change in any reservation, in order to facilitate the file’s localization.
It is understood that conditions may vary for individuals and groups, or for certain dates and seasons.
Likewise, CONOCE CHILE obeys prepayment and payment policies, reserve signal rules, refunds, fines and restrictions established by the products and services suppliers.
Although CONOCE CHILE will try to avoid cancellation charges, the client must accept expenses incurred and charges established by the supplier, which may add be up to 100% of the original service value.
This is also valid in case of “no show” passenger in previously requested services. In case of hotel “no show”, Value Tax MUST be added to the room rate. This is currently 19%.

PASSENGER INFORMATION

It is the Outbound Tour Operator’s responsibility to provide CONOCE CHILE with all the information regarding each passenger, at least one week before their arrival. This applies specifically to passengers who will travel in crafts such as Australis Cruises, Skorpios, Andean Crossing and others, or by local airlines. The information refers to: passenger’s full name, date of birth, citizenship and passport number.
Please, ask your CONOCE CHILE Account Executive for the passenger form.

FLIGHTS CONFIRMATION

It is Outbound Tour Operator’s responsibility to provide CONOCE CHILE with the correct flight information (airline, flight number, schedules, PNR and passenger’s full names), at least 72 working hours prior to passenger’s arrival. This ensures that CONOCE CHILE will coordinate the adequate services. In case of groups the information shall be sent with a wider gap of time.
For security reasons, airlines are not authorized to inform passenger’s names. Therefore it is not possible to confirm arrival or departure details without the PNR.
According to Chilean airlines rules, passengers themselves must do changes in case of needing them.
Flight confirmation is initially passenger’s responsibility. The passenger may request CONOCE CHILE staff collaboration. In that case he/she should give appropriate information, including the PNR. Passengers must never give their travel documents to third parties. In case of requiring assistance with the confirmation, passengers should wait for a phone call or written confirmation stating that this has been done.

PAYMENTS

Payment conditions are valid according to the agreement with each client. These conditions must be complied with, in order to provide the services.

RESPONSABILITY

CONOCE CHILE acts as an intermediary and coordinator between Outbound Tour Operators and services and products Suppliers. Therefore, CONOCE CHILE cannot be held liable for differences or damages a passenger could incur due to a determined supplier error or omission.
Likewise, CONOCE CHILE cannot be held liable for situations arising from force major reasons, natural phenomenon or criminal acts.
Nevertheless, CONOCE CHILE is committed to contribute in finding solutions to any problem the passengers may face during their stay in the country, taking into account that the costs shall be borne by the passenger.
CONOCE CHILE is not liable for any cost generated by change or cancellation of services, losses or delays which are not direct responsibility of CONOCE CHILE, neither will CONOCE CHILE assume expenses for losses or damage of goods or documents belonging to the passengers.
CONOCE CHILE is not liable for expenses incurred from accidents for which it has not been directly responsible.
Outbound Tour Operators are advised to recommend passengers to travel with adequate travel insurance.
CONOCE CHILE does not take responsibility for the correct granting of their services or service organization of suppliers, in case the client does not send the total necessary information in the requested period, or if there is non-fulfilment of the payment agreements.

Also, looking after the security and integrity of its passengers, CONOCE CHILE has enabled a special telephone number for them in case of emergency. This line works 24 hours a day and the number is  09- 8 449 76 58.
